Mitarbeiter der Bodenkontrolle manövrierten den großen Canadarm2-Roboterarm der Internationalen Raumstation (ISS) an Ort und Stelle für geplante Arbeit, die während des Weltraumspaziergangs am Mittwoch stattfindet. Die Astronauten Barry Wilmore und Terry Virts werden ihren zweiten Außenbordeinsatz um 7:10 a.m. EST (13:10 MEZ) starten, um mehr Kabel zu verlegen und einen der zwei verriegelten Endeffektoren des Canadarm2 zu schmieren, diese dienen als Spitze oder Basis für den Roboterarm. Sie werden auch das „Tranquility“-Modul vorbereiten für den Umzug des Permanent Multipurpose Module (PMM) und des neuen Bigelow Expandable Activity Module später in diesem Jahr. Während das Duo die Verfahren überprüfte und die Werkzeuge und Raumanzüge bereitmachten, arbeitete Samantha Cristoforetti an einer Vielzahl von Forschungen und Klempnerarbeiten. Sie trug Ausrüstung für das Drain Brain Experiment, das studiert, wie Blut aus dem Gehirn zurück fließt zum Herzen in der Schwerelosigkeit. Die drei Expedition 42-Kosmonauten genossen einen freien Tag für den „Tag des Verteidigers des Vaterlandes“.
