Sojus TMA-08M nach Rekordflug an der ISS angekommen

Seit gestern ist die Besatzung der Internationalen Raumstation (ISS) wieder komplett und hat wieder ihre sechsköpfige Sollstärke. Sojus TMA-08M startete am 28. März 2013 um 21:43 Uhr MEZ vom Kosmodrom in Baikonur/Kasachstan und dockte nach einem Rekordflug von fünf Stunden und 46 Minuten um 3:29 Uhr MEZ am russischen „Poisk“-Modul an. An Bord des russischen Sojus-Raumschiffs befanden sich die beiden Roskosmos–Kosmonauten Pawel Wladimirowitsch Winogradow, Alexander Alexandrowitsch Misurkin und der NASA–Astronaut Christopher John Cassidy, welche die ISS-Expedition 35 um Kommandant Chris Austin Hadfield (CSA), Thomas Henry Marshburn (NASA) und  Roman Jurjewitsch Romanenko (Roskosmos) ergänzen. Bisher waren für so einen Flug zwei Tage nötig. Erstmals hatte man den schnellen Anflug an die ISS mit einem bemannten Raumschiff ausgeführt. Dabei erfolgen die notwendigen Bahnmanöver in kürzeren Zeitabständen, was eine präzise und autonome Berechnung der Bahndaten und Korrekturen an Bord des Raumschiffes erfordert. Der Schnellflug war seit August 2012 mit drei verschiedenen unbemannten Raumfrachtern getestet worden. Nachdem die NASA ihr Space Shuttle-Programm im Jahr 2011 aus Kostengründen nach drei Jahrzehnten eingestellt hatte, verfügt sie seitdem über keinen eigenen Transporter mehr. Die US-Astronauten müssen vorerst mit den Sojus-Kapseln zur ISS fliegen.

März 2013 vom Cape Canaveral AFS Launch Complex 40 im US-Bundesstaat Florida mit einer “Falcon 9″ Trägerrakete ins All zur Internationalen Raumstation (ISS) gestartet war und seit dem 3. März 2013 am US-Modul “Harmony” angedockt war, ist am 26. März 2013 gegen 11.56 Uhr MEZ von der ISS abgedockt und landete um 17:34 Uhr MEZ im Pazifik vor Mexiko. Wegen schlechter Wetterbedingungen war der Rückflug um 24 Stunden verschoben worden. “Dragon” hatte 575 Kilogramm wissenschaftliche Geräte, Ersatzteile, Lebensmittel, Kleidung und Hygieneartikel zur ISS gebracht. Auf dem Rückweg hatte “Dragon” eine Ladung von 1,2 Tonnen dabei, darunter etwa 660 Kilogramm  gut verpackte, teils tiefgekühlte Ergebnisse wissenschaftlicher Experimente sowie Teile von Experimentiereinrichtungen, die im Auftrag der NASA und anderer Raumfahrtorganisationen der ISS-Partner an Bord der Internationalen Raumstation durchgeführt bzw. verwendet wurden. SpaceX CRS-2 ist der zweite Flug im Rahmen des CRS-Programms (Commercial Resupply Services). Die NASA hat SpaceX für 1,6 Milliarden US-Dollar beauftragt, zwölf “Dragon”-Flüge zur Versorgung der ISS durchzuführen. 2012 hatte der erste private Raumtransporter der Geschichte einen erfolgreichen Testflug und dann auch seinen ersten Versorgungsflug zur ISS absolviert. Die wieder verwendbare sechs Tonnen schwere “Dragon”-Kapsel (Länge von 5,10 Meter, Durchmesser von 3,66 Meter) wurde von SpaceX gebaut, das im Juni 2002 von Elon Musk gegründet wurde, der mit der Internetfirma PayPal mehrere hundert Millionen US-Dollar verdient hatte und mit einem Teil davon SpaceX ins Leben rief. Neben Versorgungsflügen will SpaceX bis Mitte 2015 auch Menschen ins All befördern können.  Die NASA hatte ihr Space Shuttle-Programm im Jahr 2011 aus Kostengründen nach drei Jahrzehnten eingestellt und verfügt seitdem über keinen eigenen Transporter mehr. Die Raumfähren waren zu teuer, zu selten nutzbar und zu aufwändig in der Instandhaltung. Die “Discovery” , mit insgesamt 39 Mission und 365 Tagen im Weltraum die dienstälteste US-Raumfähre, war im März 2011 eingemottet worden (letzte Mission STS-133 24. Februar bis zum 9. März 2011). Die “Endeavour” hatte ihre letzte Mission im Mai 2011 (letzte Mission STS-134 16. Mai 2011 bis zum 1. Juni 2011) und die “Atlantis” war im Juli 2011 als letzte Raumfähre von einem Flug ins All zurückgekehrt (letzte Mission STS-135 8. Juli 2011 bis zum 21. Juli 2011). Die US-Astronauten müssen vorerst mit russischen Sojus-Kapseln zur ISS fliegen. Die Nasa entwickelt als Shuttle-Nachfolger ein bemanntes Raumschiff für Flüge zum Mond, zum Mars und darüber hinaus. Die “Orion”-Kapsel soll ab 2017 einsatzbereit sein.

Am Mittwoch hat US-Schauspieler Brent Spiner (Android Lieutenant Commander Data in der Science-Fiction-Serie “Raumschiff Enterprise: Das nächste Jahrhundert”/“Star Trek: The Next Generation”/TNG – 1987 bis 1994) auf Twitter seine Statements gegen Waffen in den USA geäußert. Ein polarisierendes Thema und es gab einige „Fans“, die meinten sinngemäß er sollte sich als Promi um sein Business kümmern und nicht seine politische Meinung sagen. Das ist wirklich arrogant. Ich teile Brent Spiners Meinung (auch andere Fans haben sich zustimmend geäußert).
