ISS-Expedition 43-Kommandant Terry Virts (USA/NASA), Samantha Cristoforetti (Italien/ESA) und Anton Schkaplerow (Russland/Roskosmos) landeten mit ihrem Raumschiff Sojus TMA-15M um 9:44 a.m. EDT (15:44 Uhr MESZ) in Kasachstan. Russische Rettungsmannschaften halfen ihnen beim Verlassen der Sojus-Kapsel und beim Anpassen an die Gravitation nach ihrem Aufenthalt im Weltraum. Die drei Astronauten dockten um 6:20 a.m. EDT (12:20 Uhr MESZ) von der Internationalen Raumstation (ISS) ab, um ihre Heimreise zu beginnen. Schkaplerow, der Sojus-Kommandant, war  an den Kontrollen des Raumschiffs. Das Trio erreichte am 24. November 2014 die ISS und verbrachte mehr als sechs Monate mit Forschung und Technologie-Demonstrationen. Virts, Cristoforetti und Schkaplerow verbrachten 199 Tage an Bord der Raumstation und reisten fast 84.000.000 Meilen  während ihrer Zeit im Weltraum. Virts verbrachte während zwei Flügen 212 Tage im All, der erste war 2010 während der Mission STS-130 des Space Shuttle „Endeavour“. Schkaplerow verbrachte während zwei Flügen 364 Tage im All, der erste war 2011 während der ISS-Expeditionen 29 und 30. Dies war für Samantha Cristoforetti der erste Flug in den Weltraum. Die Station ist nun besetzt durch ISS-Expedition 44-Kommandant Gennadi Padalka  (Russland/Roskosmos) und die Bordingenieure Michail Kornijenko (Russland/Roskosmos) und Scott Kelly  (USA/NASA). Kelly und Kornijenko haben zweieinhalb Monate ihres Jahres an Bord der ISS verbracht mit dem Sammeln von wertvollen biomedizinischer Daten, die künftige Langzeitmissionen informieren werden. Die übrige Expedition 44-Besatzung,  Kjell Lindgren (USA/NASA), Oleg Kononenko (Russland/Roskosmos) und Kimiya Yui  (Japan/JAXA), soll voraussichtlich Ende Juli vom Kosmodrom Baikonur in Kasachstan starten.
