Formel 1-Großer Preis von Europa:Rennen

Sebastian Vettel, der Bub aus Heppenheim und amtierender Formel 1-Weltmeister, baut seinen Punkte-Vorsprung in der Fahrerwertung der laufenden Formel 1-Saison 2011 gewaltig aus. Der Red Bull-Pilot hat beim Großen Preis von Europa 2011 auf dem Valencia Street Circuit in Valencia/Spanien den sechsten Sieg im achten Rennen geholt.   Zweiter wurde Fernando Alonso/Ferrari vor Vettels Teamkollegen Mark Webber. Nico Rosberg/Mercedes Grand Prix wurde siebter. Sein Teamkollege Michael Schumacher kollidierte gleich nach dem ersten Boxenstopp mit Lotus Renault
-Pilot Vitaly Petrov. Schumacher beendete das Rennen auf Platz 17. Nick Heidfeld/Lotus Renault GP wurde zehnter.
Noch zwei kleine Rekorde: noch nie gelangen einem Formel 1-Piloten zum Saisonstart sechs erste und zwei zweite Plätze. Und es gab keinen Ausfall. Alle 24 Autos sind ins Ziel gekommen. Noch nie zuvor in der 60-jährigen Formel 1-Geschichte hatten mehr Fahrer das Ziel erreicht.

Statements:

Sebastian Vettel: „Unglaublich, das Rennen hat mir sehr viel Spaß gemacht. Vielleicht sieht es langweilig aus, wenn man alleine vorne weg fährt. Aber ich liebe es, auf das Auto zu hören, mit der Box zu reden und das Rennen zu lesen. Und wenn man das schafft wie heute, dann bin ich einfach überglücklich. Wir hatten keine Probleme, ich bin sehr zufrieden.“

Christian Horner (Red Bull-Teamchef): „Es war ein hartes Rennen, sehr eng gegenüber Ferrari. Wenn du zu viel pushst, dann ist es schnell vorbei. Webbers Reifen waren eigentlich schon fertig und dann hat er bei der Boxeneinfahrt einen Fehler gemacht. Da hat er Zeit verloren und dann ist Alonso vorbeigezogen. Das war wirklich ein strategisches Rennen.“

Stefano Domenicali (Ferrari-Teamchef): “
Ich denke wir sollten zufrieden sein. Es war ein schwieriges Rennen, wo man ständig pushen muss. Ich freue mich, daß wir mindestens einen Red Bull gekriegt haben. Jetzt müüssen wir hart arbeiten und mal Vettel kriegen.“

Nico Rosberg: „Das war okay heute, es war das Beste, was das Auto heute hergegeben hat. Der Rückstand ist aber viel zu groß. Der Funk ist auch wieder ausgefallen. In Silverstone wird sich nicht viel ändern denke ich. Wichtig ist, daß wir mal einen Schritt nach vorne machen und die Top 6 mal ärgern.“

Michael Schumacher: „Zu der Kollision mit Petrov kam es, weil ich ihn nach der Boxenausfahrt zu spät gesehen habe. Ich habe versucht, zu bremsen. Aber es war zu spät. Das war meine Dummheit und das Rennen war gegessen. Ich hab nicht sehen können, wie stark mein Frontflügel beschädigt war und ich musste dann extrem langsam fahren. Vielleicht verliere ich noch eine Position, weil ich die weiße Linie berührt habe.“

Lewis Hamilton: „Ich kann glücklich sein, im Vergleich mit dem letzten Rennen. Aber wir waren trotzdem nicht schnell genug. Ich war froh, daß ich vor Massa geblieben bin. Auf die Fans in Silverstone freue ich mich, aber über die Regeländerung freue ich mich nicht. Wir sind einfach nicht schnell genug, um mal ein Rennen zu gewinnen. Und mit den Regeländerungen wird es noch schwieriger.“
