Die Astronautin Cristoforetti gehört mit den Astronauten/Kosmonauten Terry Virts (USA/NASA) und Anton Schkaplerow (Russland/Roskosmos) zur ISS-Expedition 42 und bereiten sich im Kosmodrom in Baikonur/Kasachstan für ihre Mission auf der Internationalen Raumstation (ISS) vor. Sie werden von dort planmäßig am 23. November (US-Zeit) zur ISS starten, wo sie die Mannschaft um Kommandant Barry Wilmore (USA/NASA) und die Bordingenieure Alexander Samokutjajew (Russland/Roskosmos) und Jelena Serowa (Russland/Roskosmos) ergänzen werden.
