NASA-Astronaut und Weltraumspaziergänger Terry Virts berichtete, daß er eine kleine Menge Wasser in seinem Helm frei schwebend sah, während der Wiederunterdrucksetzung der Luftschleuse zum Abschluß des Außenbordeinsatzes am Mittwoch. Es gab keinen Bericht von Wasser während des Weltraumspaziergangs selbst und die Mannschaft war nie in Gefahr. Expedition 42-Besatzungsmitglied Samantha Cristoforetti berichtete nach dem Entfernen des Helms über das frei schwebende Wasser im Helm und gab an, daß das Helm-Absorptions-Polster  feucht war. Die Bodenkontrolle analysiert derzeit die Situation, um die Quelle des Wassers zu bestätigen. Virts trug einen Raumanzug  #3005, der nach einem Weltraumspaziergang im Dezember 2013 ein ähnliches Problem erfuhr. Die Teams werden sorgfältig die Raumanzugs-Daten auswerten und führen eine detaillierte Beurteilung vor dem nächsten Weltraumspaziergang durch. Virts und sein Kollege Barry Wilmore sollen laut Plan  ihren dritten und letzten Außenbordeinsatz am Sonntag 1. März durchführen.

Marseille (ist die wichtigste französische und eine bedeutende europäische Hafenstadt) ist zu sehen. Sie liegt am Golfe du Lion, einer Mittelmeerbucht. Die Stadt, deren Einwohner sich Marseillais nennen, ist Hauptstadt des Départements Bouches-du-Rhône in der Region Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur. Marseille ist mit 850.636 Einwohnern (Stand 1. Januar 2011) nach Paris die zweitgrößte Stadt Frankreichs. Das Ballungsgebiet Communauté urbaine Marseille Provence Métropole hat, wenn man die angrenzenden Städte und Gemeinden wie Allauch, Aubagne und Penne-sur-Huveaune hinzuzählt, ungefähr 1,35 Millionen Einwohner und ist damit nach Paris und Lyon die drittgrößte Agglomeration Frankreichs. Marseille war 2013 gemeinsam mit Košice Kulturhauptstadt Europas. Im Nordwesten grenzt die Stadt an die Chaîne de l’Estaque, eine aus Kalkfelsen bestehende Bergkette hinter l’Estaque, die den Étang de Berre, ein großes salzhaltiges Binnengewässer, vom Meer abtrennt. Durch die Lage herrscht in Marseille ein mediterranes Klima.
