Die sechsköpfige Expedition 42-Besatzung war am Mittwoch beschäftigt mit Frachttransfers vom Dragon–Raumfrachter und Forschung auf der Internationalen Raumstation (ISS). Kommandant Barry Wilmore (USA/NASA) führte Botanik-Forschung durch und erntete Pflanzen, die für die Advanced Plant Experiments-03-1 (APEX-03-1) gewachsen waren. Die Acker-Schmalwand-Pflanzen wurden fotografiert und in einem Wissenschaftsgefrierfach konserviert für eine Analyse auf der Erde. Terry Virts verarbeitete Proben für das Coarsening in Solid Liquid Mixtures-2 (CSLM-2) Experiment, das studiert die Prozesse, die in Materialien für Verbraucher- und Industrieprodukte stattfinden. Er packte später mehr Ausrüstung aus dem Dragon-Raumfrachter aus. Ingenieure der Bodenkontrolle bereiten den Canadarm2-Roboterarm und Dextre vor, um das Cloud-Aerosol Transport System (CATS) Experiment von Dragons exponiertem Stauraum zu entfernen und es auf einer Plattform außerhalb des japanischen Kibō-Moduls zu installieren. CATS wird Aerosole in der Erdatmosphäre beobachten, um die Auswirkungen auf das globale Klima zu verstehen und ein besseres Modell des Klima-Rückkopplungsprozesses zu schaffen.
