Der Yellowstone-Nationalpark und die Teton-Bergkette sind zu sehen. Der Yellowstone-Nationalpark ist ein Nationalpark in den Vereinigten Staaten und wurde am 1. März 1872 gegründet. Damit ist er der älteste Nationalpark der Welt. Der Name des Parks ist vom Yellowstone River übernommen, dem wichtigsten Fluß im Park. Der Park ist vor allem für seine geothermalen Quellen wie Geysire und Schlammtöpfe sowie für seine Wildtiere wie Bisons, Grizzlybären und Wölfe bekannt. Er ist das Herz des größeren Yellowstone-Ökosystems. 1978 erklärte ihn die UNESCO zum Weltnaturerbe. Der Park liegt mit 96 Prozent der Fläche beinahe vollständig im US-Bundesstaat Wyoming, 3 Prozent liegen in Montana sowie 1 Prozent in Idaho. Der Yellowstone-Nationalpark ist Teil der Rocky Mountains. Der Nationalpark liegt zu weiten Teilen in der vor rund 640.000 Jahren entstandenen Caldera des Yellowstone-Vulkans, über der Magmakammer, die in mehr als 8 Kilometern Tiefe liegt. Die Magmakammer ist rund 80 Kilometer lang, 40 Kilometer breit und 10 Kilometer mächtig. Damit zählt der Yellowstone-Vulkan zur Gruppe der Supervulkane. Er ist der größte Supervulkan auf dem amerikanischen Kontinent. Die Teton-Bergkette ist eine Bergkette an der Ostflanke der Rocky Mountains. Sie erstreckt sich etwa 100 km in Nord-Süd-Richtung im US-Bundesstaat Wyoming an der Grenze zu Idaho. Die beiden höchsten Gipfel der Kette sind der Grand Teton mit 4198 Meter und der Mount Moran mit 3842 Meter. Fast die gesamte Ostflanke der Teton Range und der Westen von Jackson Hole gehören heute zum Grand-Teton-Nationalpark.
