Der Manicouagan-Stausee (ist ein ringförmiger See innerhalb eines Einschlagkraters in der kanadischen Provinz Québec) ist zu sehen. Er liegt knapp 800 Kilometer nordöstlich von Montreal und 214 Kilometer nördlich von Baie-Comeau, seine Fläche beträgt 1942 km². Zuflüsse sind unter anderen der Rivière Mouchalagane, der Rivière Thémines, der Rivière Seignelay und der Rivière Hart Jaune. Abfluss ist der Rivière Manicouagan, der in Richtung Süden zum Mündungstrichter des Sankt-Lorenz-Stroms fließt. Der Einschlagkrater entstand vor ungefähr 214 Millionen Jahren durch den Einschlag eines Meteoriten mit einem Durchmesser von rund fünf Kilometern. Beim Einschlag hinterließ der Meteorit einen Krater mit einem Durchmesser von etwa 100 Kilometern, wovon heute aufgrund von Sedimentation und Erosion nur noch 72 Kilometer übrig geblieben sind. Im Ringzentrum des Sees befindet sich die 2020 km² große René-Levasseur-Insel. Deren höchster Punkt ist der 952 Meter hohe Mont Babel, ein durch Isostasie entstandener Zentralberg.
