Prince Edward Island ist darüber hinaus eine Provinz im Osten Kanadas. Die Nachbarprovinzen der Insel im Westen sind New Brunswick und Nova Scotia, im Osten Neufundland. Prince Edward Island gehört zu den Seeprovinzen und ist flächenmäßig die kleinste Provinz des Landes. Benannt ist sie nach Edward Augustus, Duke of Kent and Strathearn, dem Vater von Königin Victoria.
