Die Niagarafälle (sind Wasserfälle des Niagara-Flusses an der Grenze zwischen dem USBundesstaat New York und der kanadischen Provinz Ontario) sind zu sehen (Mitte). Der Niagara River verbindet den Eriesee (Links) mit dem Ontariosee (Rechts). An den Niagarafällen stürzt er 58 Meter in die Tiefe. Die oben gelegene Insel Goat Island (Ziegeninsel) spaltet die Fälle in zwei Teile. Der US-amerikanische Teil hat eine Kantenlänge von 363 Meter, der kanadische eine von 792 Meter. Das Wasser des US-amerikanischen Teils fällt nach 21 Meter auf eine Sturzhalde, die bei einem Felssturz 1954 entstand. Der kanadische Teil (Horseshoe, deutsch Hufeisen) hat eine freie Fallhöhe von 52 Meter. Niagara Falls ist zudem der Name der beiden Schwesterstädte Niagara Falls, New York und Niagara Falls, Ontario, in deren Zentrum sich die Fälle befinden.
