Astronautin Samantha Cristoforetti und Kommandant Barry Wilmore (USA/NASA) begannen am Dienstag Austauscharbeiten eines Mischpumpen-Separators an einem US-Raumanzug. Cristoforetti begann ihren Tag mit dem medizinischen Sammeln von Speichel- und Urinproben für Aufbewahrung  in einem Wissenschaftsgefrierschrank. Terry Virts arbeitete an einer Vielzahl von Wissenschaft einschließlich der Aktualisierung von Ultraschall-Scanner-Software, der Überprüfung eines botanischen Experiments und der Teilnahme an einer Augenuntersuchung. Die Kosmonauten Alexander Samokutjajew (Russland/Roskosmos) und Anton Schkaplerow (Russland/Roskosmos) begannen ihren Tag im “Sarja”-Modul mit der Installation von Auflagefolie für Innenverkleidungen. Russlands erste weibliche Kosmonautin an Bord der Internationalen Raumstation (ISS), Jelena Serowa (Russland/Roskosmos), führte eine fotografische Inspektion der Fenster im russischen Segment durch. Die drei Kosmonauten arbeiteten auch an ihrer Aufgabenliste der russischen Experimente, dem Studium solcher Dinge wie chemischer Reaktionen in der Erdatmosphäre,der Erkennung von Mikrometeoriteneinschlägen und der sensorischen Anpassung eines Besatzungsmitglieds an langfristiger Schwerelosigkeit. Inzwischen bereitet das Unternehmen SpaceX den Start des kommerziellen DragonRaumfrachters am 16. Dezember um 1:31 p.m. EST vor.
