Bild via einem Crew-Mitglied der  ISS-Expedition 36. Zu sehen ist ein Nacht-Bild von einem großen Teil des zweitgrößten USBundesstaates Texas, darunter die vier größten Metropolregionen. Das Ausmaß der Metropolregionen ist gut sichtbar in der Nacht durch Stadt- und Highway-Lichter. Die größte Metropolregion, Dallas-Fort-Worth, oft informell Metroplex bezeichnet, ist der stark wolkenbedeckte Bereich oben in der Mitte des Fotos. Das benachbarte Oklahoma, auf der Nordseite des Red River, weniger als 100 Meilen nördlich des Metroplex, scheint Unwetter durchzumachen. Die Houston-Metropolregion, einschließlich der Küstenstadt Galveston, ist rechts unten. Im Osten nahe der Grenze mit Louisiana, erscheint die Metropolregion BeaumontPort Arthur als ein kleiner Licht-Klecks, auch die Küste von dem Texas-Golf umarmend. Im Landesinneren an der linken Seite des Bildes kann man die San Antonio-Metropolregion skizzieren. Die Hauptstadt Austin kann man im Nordosten von San Antonio sehen.
