Mai 2013 mit dem Raumschiff Sojus TMA-09M zur ISS starten werden, um dort die ISS-Expedition 36-Crew um Kommandant Pawel Winogradow (Russland/Roskosmos), Chris Cassidy (USA/NASA) und Alexander Missurkin (Russland/Roskosmos) zu ergänzen. ISS-Crewmitglied Chris Cassidy hatte an einem Google+-Hangout mit Astronauten-Kollegen im Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center und den Schauspielern Chris Pine, John Cho und Alice Eve, dem Regisseur J. J. Abrams und dem Drehbuchautor Damon Lindelof des neuen “Star-Trek”-Films “Star Trek Into Darkness” teilgenommen und Leben und Arbeit an Bord der ISS diskutiert.

In der Nacht zum Dienstag waren die Astronauten der ISS-Expedition 34/ISS-Expedition 35 Chris Hadfield (Kanada/CSA), Tom Marshburn (USA/NASA) und Roman Romanenko (Roskosmos/Russland) mit ihrem Raumschiff Sojus TMA-07M sicher zur Erde zurückgekehrt. Die Bilder zeigen Jurtschichin, Nyberg und Parmitano in Star City (in der Nähe der Stadt Schtscholkowo nordöstlich von Moskau in Russland), wo sie sich für ihre sechsmonatige Mission auf der ISS vorbereiten. In Star City (Swjosdny Gorodok) befindet sich das Ausbildungszentrum der russischen (und früher sowjetischen) Kosmonauten, das Juri-Gagarin-Kosmonautentrainingszentrum. Seit den 1960er-Jahren werden hier alle Kosmonauten auf ihre Flüge ins All, z. B. zur Raumstation ISS, vorbereitet.
